Toni is a change-maker and Tunga is a Kinyarwanda word that means "to own something of value". We are a social enterprise that empowers African artisans through ethical practices and fair wages.
Our Promise
We at Toni Tunga are dedicated to uncovering the talents of artisans across Africa and preserving their centuries-old craftsmanship. We travel far and wide to understand their stories and experiences, and we co-design our pieces together, combining contemporary design and traditional craftsmanship. Operating out of Calgary, Toronto, Nairobi, Kampala, Bujumbura and Kigali, we seek to expand market access and create more economic opportunities for these hidden artisans.
